We are holding our Christmas Course on November 30th with Matt Pain 6th Dan and Simon Bligh 5th Dan
10am to 12pm and 12.30pm to 2pm
Matt Sensei began martial arts in 1980 and has been training with Rick Jackson 8th Dan since 1990. Pursing a career in academia, Matt travelled to the US to study for a PhD in Biomechanics at Penn State. Whilst there, he continued his Shotokan training as well as Isshin Ryu, achieving Sandan in that style. In 2000, Matt returned to the UK as a lecturer in Biomechanics at Loughborough University. He continues to train weekly with Rick Sensei, attends seminars throughout the UK and is a senior member of the HDKI GB.
Simon Sensei has been training in Shotokan Karate since 1974, where he started in his hometown of Liverpool. After relocating to London, he spent many years as a member of Enoeda Sensei`s famous Marshall St Dojo. In 1990-1991 he spent a year living and working in Japan and whilst there continued his training at the JKA Hombu Dojo in Tokyo. In 2004 he joined the JKS and has been a big contributor to the success of JKS in England. He has a wealth of experience in Shotokan Karate and believes in "Karate for everyone, for all your life. He is now a senior member of HDKI GB.
On Saturday from 2pm our club gradings for all adults and senior belt children will follow the seminar.
On Sunday December 1st:
Training for all white belts and any children attempting 9th kyu or below (orange belt) from 10am - 11am
Grading will follow from 11am.
Training for all attempting 8th kyu (red) to 6th kyu (green) from 1pm - 2pm
Grading will follow from 2pm.
Training for Children (under 16): both sessions Saturday €20, one session €12
Training for Adults: both sessions Saturday €30, one session €20
Grading cost for kyu grades: stripes on white belt €14, all colour belts €20 Register for Grading here before November 22nd
